We have enjoyed immensely our foraging experiences learning of the wonders that grow on the Hill of Uisneach and the myriad of uses that our native plants are used for. For the cooler months our Foraging on the Hill will be suspended until the Spring but we will be back with our eyes and ears to the ground, so be sure to check back in here with us and join us on a nature journey. . . back in time !
Day outline – 11:00 to 16:00
Try something different, spend an informal day with us walking the Hill of Uisneach and learn the uses that the flora served our forefathers in their everyday lives. Sustenance, healing and dying cloth amongst other uses the flora amply provided. Learn of the healing aspects of Stitchwort, Speedwell. Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Fennel & Gorse, wild Blue berries and nettles too. Did you know you can eat Sheep sorrel, Common and wood ? Join us in the beautiful setting at the Meadow and learn of the wonders, jointly gathered.
