Samhain on Uisneach

We are super excited to announce that we have the cream of Ireland’s seanchaidhthe, to share Samhain night with us !

As we all know, the medium of storytelling and song is key in a lot of our folkloric and oral heritage. We find links between the stories, our traditions, language through its ability to teach, enhance, remind, unfold and deliver a sense of place, that is not as readily felt from reading a book. . . So, what better than to get immersed in nature and allow our ears to be caressed by soulful song and our beautiful stories of old…

The Dark Half of the Year awaits. . .

Joining us as MC for the evening is long-time friend of the Hill; Treasa Ní Mhúrchú. Treasa is a ban draoí, archaeologist, storyteller, tour guide and holistic therapist. Treasa will gently guide us on a journey through a Samhain meditation of recollection and connection, to all that would like to take part – Treasa’s meditations come highly recommended !

We are thrilled to be welcoming Eimear Burke; Chosen Chief of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids – Eimear’s talent for sharing our rich myths through her own storytelling, is unrivalled ! Eimear too has long been a friend of the Hill and we are so looking forward to having her share her talent and gift with us all for Samhain.

We’ll also enjoy some of our rich folklore around Samhain, brought to us by our very own guide and draoí, Seán Clancy. Seán is truly gifted when it comes to immersing oneself in the stories. His passion for keeping the folklore alive is palpable, and shares deep connection to the Hill.

An event on Uisneach wouldn’t be complete without witnessing the extraordinary voice belonging to Sound Your Soul – Anne Marie Hynes ! Anne Marie brings such a unique emotion and sense of depth when she shares her voice ~ she really is one of Ireland’s hidden jewels in music and we love her !

We are really looking forward to this event – we hope you will be too !

Layers, we will be outdoors for the duration / Hot bottle to keep you comfortable, if needed /  Cushion / If you’d like to bring your own camping chair, please do / An open heart & warm spirit !
